Amanda James loves creating with brides. Custom designs are made-to-measure, use couture techniques and are fit to perfection. Beautiful silks and luxurious textiles are sourced from all over the world. Our seamstresses & skilled artisans hand-stitch beading, embroideries and appliqué in layouts designed just for you.

Ordering & Design
We design in steps, letting the fabric speak to us while draping and in our fittings. Clients love that we listen to their concerns and suggest options that work best for each design.
Here’s the general process:
Ideas
Share your ideas with us by booking an appointment in our studio, via Zoom, or submit an Order Inquiry. Once we chat out design ideas & confirm your timeline is workable, we'll provide a quote range.
Please note, while we love being sent reference photos for general vibe, we do not produce replicas.
Confirmation
Orders are confirmed by placing a deposit. Once that's received, we'll get your measurements and confirm your fitting dates.
Design
Now the fun begins! We'll share all of the fabric swatches we've gathered, send you sketches, drape ideas on the dress form - or on you!
Fit & Finalize
After all the details of the design are finalized, we'll send you an invoice for the remaining balance based on the fabric selected, level of embellishment and complexity of the overall design.
Once that is fulfilled, we'll proceed with fitting your design, making alterations, and completing your gown.
Complete!
Once your order is complete, we prepare it for pickup or shipping! All orders come with a breathable garment bag, wood hanger and custom label embroidered with your name.
Fittings & Lead Time
Placing orders 8 months ahead of your wedding works well for a stress free experience.
We suggest 5 appointments, each spaced 4+ weeks apart:
Intro Consultation
Brides try on samples from our collection to get ideas flowing. We talk about the ideas you have, what you are hoping to achieve aesthetically, any areas of your body you are self-conscious about and want us to pay special attention too. We look at fabric swatches, sketches, and decide on an overall direction.
Zoom intro consultations are also available!
1st Fitting
We fit a muslin toile sample. This is a simple version of your gown cut in plain cotton fabric. We make sure the overall silhouette looks good and that the cutting pattern matches your measurements. This is also an opportunity to make any tweaks to the design before we’ve cut into your actual fabric.
If you're not in Dallas and are unable to fly in, we can ship your toile sample and fit via Zoom.
2nd Fitting
We fit your gown in the actual fabric. The seams, hem, finishing details and handwork will be incomplete so that we can make alterations easily. This is also a good time to talk about any additional pieces like veils and belts since it's your first time seeing the gown in the actual fabric!
If you are only able to come to LA for one fitting, this is the one that's most important.
3rd Fitting
Your gown is just about complete! We’ll decide on any last tweaks you’d like.
Final Look
If all looks good, you'll take your gown home! If any last minute adjustments are needed, we'll take care of it before shipping out or preparing for pickup.
Total Lead Time
Our standard production lead time for styles from the collection is 4-6 months.
For custom designs, we request an 8 month lead time. With this in mind, we recommend beginning your search 9-12 months before your wedding. Rush orders are possible if fabric is available. Rush fees may apply.
BESPOKE ORDERS — Partially Custom Designs
Bespoke Orders are for clients who would like to customize the design & fit of styles from our collection.
Say you'd like The Greta Gown but with a v-neck, low back & sleeves. We'll design it for you! Depending on the Bespoke tier you choose, orders can be made-to-measure & include a muslin toile sample, fittings and tailoring.
Pricing begins at $750 + the style cost.
COUTURE ORDERS — Fully Custom Designs
Couture Orders are fully custom creations. Your dream wedding look come to life!
We source fabrics just for you, drape silhouettes, sketch ideas, and develop design details. Couture Orders are made-to-measure, include a muslin toile sample, fittings & tailoring.
The minimum for fully custom designs is $7500.
Orders are confirmed with a $3500 deposit which can be placed online.
Once design details are finalized (usually after the intro consultation or 1st fitting) we’ll email over an invoice for the remaining balance.
Most designs are between $7500-$9500.
Styles beaded from top to bottom & extremely elaborate gowns are $10,000+
